treasure!

we went to the coolest place yesterday. Silverlake salvage. its a yard where they have tons of fixtures from old houses, hotels, etc. tons of bathtubs, with boxes of different clawfoots, old window frames, doors and all the doorknobs, hinges, etc. all dusty and funky. they even had old pulpits from churches. dear God, we could build a house with what we found. old stained glass, stoves, steps, banisters - the real deal, not sets.
some was junk, of course, but man, it was fun. we bought an little cherub from a gravestone place - she(i think its a she) is in the living room, she has been exposed to the elements but sits, perched with her legs crossed, holding a finger up to us. only 5 bucks.

some day i will have a house whre i can utilize all that stuff. their biz card goes right in the 'dream house' file.
shit, have to go to work.

We have one of those in Chicago. Can't remember the name, but it's 5 stories of warehouse.

I have one of those too. :) Here's the latest pic to go in it:

A fireplace on the patio. Sigh.

i got some great ideas...now we just need a house. a small house is just fine. with a big yard to build into...:)

My dream is to win the lottery, buy a golf course, build a house in the middle of it, keep the greenskeepers but kick all the gophers out.
