scotcheggwe are just about broke. and i have spent money like a beverly hills housewife. the floors are in and look so beautiful. we got the paint today and i am so happy with it - we got the brand that does not have chemicals or fumes - and i bet this will help the migraine situation. a week from saturday i made reservations to eat at Providence to celebrate my b'day and my friend susan getting her masters. Providence is owned by a dear friend whom we have rooted for for years. this is now the hippest joint in LA and we reserved the chefs room. its going to be a credit card night. plus this friday is my b'day. simon and i have had a rough time lately and agreed we need to run away for a coupla days. i reserved a room at the mission inn in corona - a victorian hotel - for saturday night and made reservations at Glen Ivy Hot Springs for saturday - the ultimate white trash spa. its not expensive at all but the room is. screw it. we really need a break. i have worked non stop for about a month and simon has had nutty deadlines. we have done nothing but quibble and worry about the house, the kids(drama with his daughters i cannot bear to go into) and the stress is just no good. thank god for red wine and yoga.
i dont care if we live on red beans and rice from here on out. i have gone to thrift stores and salvage yards for my light fixtures and wine glasses. we had to get nice floors. the carpet in this place looked like a mechanics shop. itll all work out.
john and michell were here from the uk and we had a super time with them this weekend. i did bow out about midnite each night. simon went to see england play in the world cup on saturday at the egyptian at 6 am. he was back and making breakfast for us all before we got up.
i directed 3 photo shoots last week. damn. i worked with a wonderful photographer though and a great crew. i love my job when the corporate stuff is removed. it can be fulfilling and stimulating - having stated that, i am thinking of going back to school part time in the fall if we can swing the $$.
am taping the new bbc show 'hex' tonight. hope its fun. Deadwood is back and brilliant. i love Ian McShane.
i also really want a friggin tattoo was going to get an O.Wilde quote on my back - my son was going to take me as a b'day present, but now simon is hating the idea of words on my body. i wanted 'we are all of us in the gutter, some of us are looking at the stars' but its not going over so well - maybe i will get a phoenix. i have wanted a tattoo forever.
need to win the lottery now. going to read my free yoga magazines now.
