does not have car insurance(bad topic, dont ask), and his car was stolen. then, his bike was stolen. then, we let him use my husbands road bike and we put a fair amount of cash into fixing it up. he doesnt want to get another car as he is leaving to go on tour in 3 weeks and will be on the road until september.
last night we were at a screening of LA plays itself -(amazing movie - more on this later) and i get a call from him. he has had a bike wreck.
it was raining last night when he got off work, he took the bus to the valley and then got on his bike and promptly crashed it.
he is ok, i think. really scraped up. he would not go to ER. went to BAND practice. we went to his practice, which pissed him off, but i did what i have not done since he was little - i pulled the, 'you do this for me, now' card. i looked him over from head to toe, grimaced at the scrapes.
he agreed to go to the dr if he is ok today - did not hit his head, so no concussion. he invited us to listen to the band practice. we stayed for a minute(simon says he felt 147 years old, as it was as loud as anything) and then got home around 1am. He is going to be allright. i wish he would take a few days off and go surfing or something, its really hard to know how much to do for him and when to skedaddle and leave him to it.
we have been having large lives lately. i found out a former colleague had breast cancer yesterday. really strange. i will see her next week.
i am glad i am freelancing as i dont have justify my hours to anyone right now(just got up late and need to go see the kid later).
simon is very supportive about this shit. he has 2 stepdaughters and is pretty even all in all.
shit fuck damn hell. its almost the weekend. phew and phew again!
