i am grateful for it, but we are both whupped. simon freelancing on a film, art directing, on set at 6am, off to school at 3, home and wrting at 7pm.
i have to be on a shoot at 7am, worked til 6:30, came home, did laundry, dishes, made tabouli, garlic bread, had done a big chili in the crockpot on sunday, these guys still munching on it(yay!). have my own freelance project.
we will not have a day off together for 2 more weeks. i am going away to my retreat this weekend(a gift from a friend). had hoped simon could come and stay with me one night, but its not to be.
one of blakes friends will be staying with us for a few days. blake has been great. pitching in, helping, working and looking for a truck, getting ready to move.
holy moly. i wont know about the new job opportunity that i dont even want to write about for 8 weeks - i heard today, but it looks good. sure would be great not to be taking freelance gigs to catch up financially. we are ok at the moment and staying out of debt, but have immigration $$ due that we are saving for.

ok - gonna say hello to my man now.

(still havent finished anansi boys - cheated and read short stories by david sedaris this weekend!)

Will you do something special when you do have a day off together? My problem is that if Im working really hard then Im often too tired to enjoy it or my expectations of just one day are so high that the day really can't be perfect enough. Because of this Nick and I often end up arguing because of the tension. I find I have to plan days off together at periods when they are rare quite carefully.Enjoy your retreat. Am looking forward to hearing what you think of Anansi Boys - I haven't started it yet - its in a whole pile of novels Im meaning to read.

Last Friday night we had an evening together planned and when i got home, we go into an instant fight. i left and drove for a few hours. we both were so tired that we just needed to sleep i think. i do make that mistake of overplanning when we have time and trying to cram our leisure days full of 'fun' stuff... have not figured that out yet.

will tell you what i think about Anansi boys when i am done. normally i fly through his books, but this one is different, or maybe my head space is different.
