watched this important film last night. gut wrenching and brought on the tears for both of us. started researching this morning on the web and read a stirring interview with Ivan Cooper, the MP portrayed by James Nesbitt in the film.
reeling off the names of those killed in the march made me ill and i dreamed about northern ireland last night and the Easter Uprising. along with U2
i know a part of it is pop culture and history is quasi at best, but i am quite disturbed today. trying to make sense and understand what happened in Derry and why is like trying to understand Waco. it haunts the back of our collective mind and makes me so sad.
