I have a dream house file and we are looking for a little condo that we can afford. i want a little balcony or patio and my dream is hardwood floors. someday i will have a house with a front and back porch too. anyway, we have decided that we will get hardwood if the place we find doesnt have it and if it is allowed. i have done a bunch of research and really want bamboo flooring. i found a place that is all eco - groovy, talked to the guy and he sent me a big package of samples.
oh my. I am in heaven. just lovely textures, stains - it is a wondrous thing. plus we are learning about the grain, etc.
i grew up in an ancient farmhouse and always took the floors for granted. i have lived in enough funky places with cheap carpeting to last several lifetimes. i just want a smooth floor that i can keep clean, throw fluffy rugs and pillows on and that will be heavenly. plus they make rooms look bigger and brighter.
we had so much fun picking out our favorites!
simon started school - poor guy - had a 12 hour day today - he is pooped and in the tub.
wednesday is his b'day - not posting anything about this yet as he might read the journal, but rest assured it will be very cool for him.
found a great central and south american craft store with all sorts of folk art, mythical strange stuff. really inexpensive for their charms and goodies too... fun.
blake looks great and we are enjoying the hell out of him these days. i am one lucky woman to have a son like this, i tell you. this may sound strange but i really want a tattoo - have for years - Blake may take me to see the artist that he used to get his and we will have a rock and roll mother and son experience. Simon wants one too - may be our xmas present to each other...
had a great yard sale day saturday - cd's for a buck - got voodoo lounge, achtung baby, some blues and compilations, a great book on jim morrison and fun stuff - spent less than 10 bucks too.
the work thing is fine as long as i am busy. i have been quite busy - tons of photo shoots these days - so i am ok at the moment. really wish i made more $$ thought, but am grateful for the health insurance!!!!!
time for a glass of red and a soft bed..
