been some time
Monday, 17 October 2005 21:14since i have posted. things I want to remember:
Sus and I doing our 5K together on Saturday. much fun.
This time with blake. he leaves in a few weeks, but it has been grand to spend time with him. just living together as a family, eating meals, the daily things, making the most of our time together. He and I went to see Capote last week. great film. Mr. hoffman won the oscar in the first 15 minutes of the fim, i would say.
we really have to concentrate to carve out time these days. simon working and going to school, my job, phew, all the chores. I come home on a friday night and really relish the houshold stuff to be honest. like to do it all on Friday night so that i have the weekend for other stuff.
really looking for a place. although there may be a big change in my work situation that i dont dare even write about that would change some things. i will get all giddy so i will just wait....
we had a surprise b'day party for our neighbor leonard on saturday afternoon - he is 80 years old and all the tenants here came together to throw a big bbq in the courtyard. simon was the cook, made a banner and whileeveryone was eating, we printed out digital pix. it was amazing. now, alot of these folks i will never be close friends with -we are all very different, but we have the best neighbors. everyone pulled out all the stops cooking, and bringing the good booze out, decorations - it was so cool - went on until after 10. i got up on saturday and worked out came home and we both fell asleep on the couch.
these are happy days and i know it. two of my closest friend are going through painful scary breakups. really hard to see them broken up and sad.
the rain has been glorious. i know its probably global warming - we never have thunderstorms here. Lat night it was great, though. opened up the windows, it must have been 70 degrees out and windy. that autumny, full moon, spitting rain that gives way to a downpour. yes, i like this time of year.
going on a retreat at the end of this month in the country by my lonesome... looking forward to it. we work like demons these days. hard to be in front of a computer at night.
Reading Anansi Boys, but i must say, its not my favorite Gaiman book... reading others in between. have started 'the historian' which is supposed to be a great vampire story, but im not convinced. need something that will grab me. lots of work reading.
going to see daniel lanois with sus on saturday night. will be lovely. mmmmm....didnt get to see emmylou, was working too late, but this will make up for it.
