scotcheggwhat an amazing holiday. i have to write down some shit or it will be lost forever.
the fishing village in polporro and the rain soaked streets. seeing simon walk home lit by street lights in the rain from our little room at the house on props.
the walk around chester on the ancient roman wall. you can feel the history under your hands. chester was built by a woman.
the lake district, filled with magic and secrets. our b and b with pink satin coverlets and walls - a whores boudoir in the middle of nature!
bens most excellent house. the curtains in the kitchen with peacocks and griffins(i think!). the conversations in pubs , simons friends clustering around him and good conversations. seeing veronica guerin - important film and the best one i have seen all summer. making love with my husband and seeing him at the turnstile as i left for home and he set off for portsmouth. missing him and a tug at my heart, but knowing he is having a great time, a memorable time..
then there was edinburgh with ben and michelle and questionable art, but what a city.
driving with simon and discussing everything, absolutely everything. we never tire of this, oddly enough and when silence happens its natural and easy.
now, the inevitable jet lag. got to get back on west coast time with a new job on monday.
subtle differences, but importantones in how the english speak - i treasure these when i hear my husband talk..so many different dialects...
