i used to LOVE vanity fair. the new issue would come and i would disappear with a glass of wine and cackle gleefully. those were the days.
it sucks a big cucumber now. boring, gratuitious(sp?) homages to 'personalities' and fucking supermodels and its all about hollywood. i am canceling my subscription.
what happened to the days when Sebastian Junger, Eccleston and scores of other writers wrote for them? even D. Dunne is getting very lame. its a sad world.
i want a subscription to Mother Jones for my birthday.
in other news...
simon down with flu. am tending him. rather worried and wish he felt better.
read'the long firm' - by Jake Arnott - being hailed as the brit McElroy. damn good read. i read that he detests guy ritchie and i can see why. he writes about the real deal - no parody there. have put his 2 other books on hold at the library. he can slide inbetween the ears of different characters quite convincingly.
i worked today - made progress. have meetings tomorrow and friday. simon is going to the dr. tomorrow if he feels the same way and i dont care how much he bitches about it. my mom called, bless her. so did Chantal - good friend she is turning out to be... ok - gonna go see if i can get him to at least take some broth or something...
