i love Loreena McKennitt. soothes the savage beast, let me tell you. she is back in the studio and we will have a fine present later this year - maybe she will tour(!) seeing her the last time was a bit of what heaven would be like for me. utterly captivating and transforming. takes one to a different time.
our friend Devon brought over a NICE Italian red for me as we lent him a computer for a bit. brought Simon beer, but i am happy with the my grape, its really nice.
the new job is by turns, interesting and tedious. i am doing some good research, art wise, but there wont be historical stuff for me to dig into. its ok though, nice enough people and i think i can do some good work. the salary is great, as is the benefits. long hours, but right now it all works well.
getting ready to go to the UK in a few weeks. oh how i am looking forward to this. Simon is running some panels at an art festival, but i get to wander. i love Northern England - Newcastle, Durham, NorthUmbria. dont know if we will get to Scotland, as we are headed south, way south to Cornwall/Devon mid way through the trip to be with his mom. i love where she lives too - the seaside is lovely and we can walk for miles on the coast. Land of Brian Froud. the first time simon took me there, we went to Tintagel - it was a dream come true with waves crashing, wind blowing and wandering in the ruins. his dad was alive then, oh there will be tears on this trip. we have to make some new memories with his mom.
i do get a night in London and an day to go to Kensal Green and i am so excited. we are going photograph, wander and hold hands in old cemetaries.
i really am thinking about the tattoo again. we are looking at possibilities... hmmm...
Blake is doing better from what he tells me - the tour is going well. he loves that life. we are all nomads. if i could have done what he is doing, i would have. what a life - to be performing his art to a different crowd every night with his best friends and getting paid(sometimes..)
